Street II

This map is an ephemeral installation which is part of the ongoing project about territory, art and cartography 'A mental image of the world'.

 

In this occasion we put a white paper over a street to print the traces of the cars over the paper, capturing the ephemeral trace of the cars and the vehicular traffic.

 

For this cartography we scanned diferent parts of the printing with a portable scanner without focusing on making 'faithful representations', doing a double procedure: on the one hand cars that leave their traces on the white paper, and on the other we generate a partial and arbitrary scann on this paper.
